Waterfalls in the Finger Lakes Region

Waterfalling Near Skaneateles
by Sue Freeman

Waterfalling is the sport of visiting waterfalls. Because of its glacial history and geologic features, the Finger Lakes Region is loaded with waterfalls – all waiting for your discovery. Some can be seen from the seat of your car; others require a very short walk. Still others require a long walk or hike. The ultimate in adventure waterfalling comes when you get your feet wet and walk up a shallow stream to climb small waterfalls and eventually stand spellbound at the base of a mighty cataract. This form of waterfalling is labeled creekwalking.
