Creekside to host Michael Leavy, author of Finger Lakes Memories on Saturday, August 18th at 1:00pm.
[Skaneateles, NY] Creekside Books & Coffee, an independent bookstore and coffeehouse in Skaneateles, is honored to be hosting author Michael Leavy on Saturday, August 18th at 1:00pm in the bookstore. Mr. Leavy will be presenting and signing copies of his book, Finger Lakes Memories.
“We are really looking forward to learning more about Mr. Leavy’s book,” says Erika Davis, owner of Creekside Books & Coffee. “Finger Lakes Memories includes spectacular photos that capture the historical significance and beauty of the Finger Lakes region which should make for a special presentation.”
About the Author
Michael Leavy, the author of eight books, brings to his writing a background of historical preservation, photography, lecturing, and Iroquois history. For Finger Lakes Memories, he received special permission to choose from the treasured Corby collection, which numbers in the thousands, as well as from other select sources. Corby took photographs of virtually everything because, in his heart, he felt so much in life was worth remembering. After seeing this book, no one will ever be able to explore the Finger Lakes region and see it in the same way again.

Finger Lakes Memories takes a long, mesmerizing look back at a land of 11 lakes, a land of monasteries and mansions, a U.S. president, abolitionists, women’s rights activists, Mark Twain, early aviation, and superb universities. Creekside Books & Coffee is located at 35 Fennell Street in Skaneateles. The bookstore is the only retail store in the village selling new hardcover and paperback books as well as toys, gifts, greeting cards and other merchandise.
