(Skaneateles, NY) – Lucas Gallery will have a reception to welcome newest oil painter Wes Wheeler to the collection on Friday, October 5 from 6 – 9 PM.

- The evening will include visiting with the artist, beverages, small foods, and great company.  Sales will be made on this evening.

- Wes’ works span the perceptual range of complete abstraction to whimsical satire.  Many of which are rendered in rich and provocative colors.  His images are reminiscent, to some extent, of Rothko with the distinctly characteristic humor and richness that Wes’s hand adds.

 Poetry Slam-DUNK!!

 

 

 

Partners:  Auburn Kiwanis, Auburn YMCA, Booker T. Washington Center, “Eat Well, Play Hard” initiative, and Partnership for Results.

Participating along with visiting author Charles R. Smith, Jr., elementary school students from Casey Park, Genesee, Herman Ave., Owasco and Seward Elementary Schools showed off a variety of talents for their friends and families in two free community events.  Student poetry recitations, athletic skills demonstrations, drumming performances, and photography projects were woven throughout Smith’s poetry and photography presentation
