Reflections on Peace Brass Roots Trio is a piano, horn, and trumpet/tenor combo who will present a jazz vespers services on Veterans’ Day Weekend called “Reflections of Peace” in the Westminster sanctuary. Suggested donation is $10. “If you can imagine Garrison Keillor meeting Aaron Copland on Bourbon Street, you begin to get a sense of “Reflections of Peace,” performed by Brass Roots Trio. Taking traditional hymnody and re-spinning it in the genre of jazz Americana, the trio suspends the listener through the essence of time. Peace is not about the absence of war but the presence of love. The Brass Roots Trio – three musicians whose love connection with music has the capacity to connect and heal the bonds of our humanity.” - Jennifer Shepherd, The Living Church Magazine 10/22/06 |
