The Merry-Go-Round Playhouse, Inc. is a professional, not-for-profit theatre comprised of two unique creative entities with a combined budget of $2.4 million: The Merry-Go-Round Playhouse Musical Theatre and the Merry-Go-Round Youth Theatre. The Playhouse is funded, in part, by the New York State Council for the Arts, Cayuga County, the City of Auburn, area businesses, local foundations and our patrons. This multi-Tony award winning musical will be our 3rd regional premiere of the summer. We worked especially hard to get the rights to this marvelous piece of theatre. It is the story of a down on his luck Producer and neurotic Accountant who team up to pull the con of the century. They’ve figured out that they can earn more from a flop than a hit, at least that’s what they think. Merry-Go-Round Playhouse is proud to bring Mel Brooks’ singing, dancing, comic extravaganza.

Les Misérables The third longest running show in Broadway history is coming to the Merry-Go-Round Playhouse. By very special arrangement with Music Theatre International, the MGR has obtained the rights to present the regional professional premiere Les Miz. Winner of eight Tony Awards including Best Musical and Best Original Score, this much loved musical is a story of “the power, the passion and the triumph of the human spirit”. Theatre goers will be thrilled to see this epic piece of theatre in the intimate Playhouse setting.
