Internationally acclaimed Canadian independent singer/songwriter Ember Swift will be making a stop in Syracuse on March 25th as she tours in support of her new album,

The Dirty Pulse. Ember will be performing an all-ages show in Syracuse at Jazz Central. With her jazzed-steeped, folk-funk-punk-world stylings and nine albums and one DVD recording under her belt on her own independent label, Ember Swift www.emberswift.com  has gained a devoted following around the world.

Her band tours more than half the year throughout the US, Canada, and Australia. Alongside Ember’s elastic jazz vocals and lush acoustic guitar are layers of electric violin, bass guitar, and vocal harmonies. Lyndell Montgomery, who will be joining Ember in Syracuse, brings infectious charisma and musicianship to each show. They travel fluently between genres and are proud independent artists who believe in the union of art and activism as a viable vehicle for social change.

The Dirty Pulse, the ninth album by Ember Swift thorugh her own independent label, Few’ll Ignite Sound, is a collection of new material whose central thee is a celebration of life, the living, anc the embedded hope in all of us. Still featuring the familiar stylistic diversity of Ember’s music, the infectious grooves in this new body of work range from folk to funk, to R&B, to jazz and feature some new forays into raggae and South-African-influenced pop.

It is the union between art and activism that forms the foundtion of Ember’s songwriting ethic; she and her band believe that it is only through honest open dialogue about global issues can we hope to inspire greater social awareness that will lead to social change.
