Named for U.S. President Millard Fillmore, Fillmore Glen State Park is located adjacent to Moravia, in Cayuga County. A replica of the log cabin in which President Fillmore was born is located within the park.
Fillmore Glen State Park, an oasis of cool, dense woods crowding into a long narrow gorge offers spectacular views, unique geological formations, including five waterfalls, and a botanically rich glen. The park has 70 campsites, a stream-fed swimming pool and fishing in the Owasco Lake inlet. There are several little shops and eateries nestled throughout the Village of Moravia to enjoy. In the winter, hiking, cross-country skiing and snowmobiling are permitted on unplowed roads. The gorge trails are closed in winter. Deer hunting is permitted in season.
