Critz Farms is a family owned business

Critz Farms is a family owned business that was established in 1985. Recognized by the New York State Department of Economic Development as recipients of the New York State Agritourism Business of the Year Award, the farm operation centers on diversified agriculture with a family entertainment focus.

Critz Farms consists of approximately 325 acres of land, situated just 3 1/2 miles south of scenic Route 20, Cazenovia, New York, in Madison County. The Syracuse area is less than 30 minutes from this beautiful Central New York farm. Owners Matthew and Juanita Critz live on the farm and their three adult children remain involved in the business during different times of the year.

A wide variety of crops are grown at Critz Farms. The primary crops are pumpkins, apples, and conifer trees. Tree varieties include balsam fir, fraser fir, white pine, white, blue, and Norway spruce; for use as Christmas trees as well as for landscaping purposes. Other crops include gourds, decorative corn, blueberries, and flowers. Farm products include farm fresh sweet apple cider, New York cheddar cheese, pure maple syrup and other maple products, as well as balsam fir wreaths.

We welcome visitors to Critz Farms throughout the year, beginning in March for our Maple Syrup Celebration. In the summer we are open for pick-your-own berries. The fall brings our annual Fall Harvest Celebration, and from Thanksgiving to Christmas, we are open for Holiday Family Fun.

We hope you enjoy visiting our web site, and we invite you to come out to the Farm and experience some of the many fun and exciting things we have to offer.

I want to go to Hawaii, and I’d like you to join me.

I want to go to Hawaii, and I’d like you to join me.

Dear Skaneateles:

I want to go to Hawaii, and I’d like you to join me.

I’ve been participating in an online contest called THE CUTEST DOG COMPETITION, and I’m writing to ask for your help.

The competition is a series of 12 consecutive internet elections. The 12 winners compete in a semi final round, and the grand prize winner will be awarded $1,000,000.

The pups I’ve been voting for daily, “Huckleberry and Doodle” are from Central New York, and for the past 3 elections, they have placed in the top 30 for 3 consecutive weeks, last week #7, out of over 50,000 other canine contestants.

The owner of the dogs, George Rossi, has publicly declared that if we win this thing, he will sell the annuity and spend every last dime on throwing a victory party for the top voters and recruiters of their candidacy…on the Island of Hawaii.

Ridiculous you say? Nuts? Crazy? Impossible? Those who know George personally also know that he’s am wholly capable of blowing a million dollars on his friends and walking away with nothing but a memory. It’s never been about the money for him…but to blow a million bucks in a legendary Elvis- like, one fell swoop of generosity?

He’s all about going down in a ball of flaming infamy; In fact, it’s what he’s known best for!

I know this sounds silly. It is! But we’ve all been having so much fun joining in on this internet highwire-without-a-net act, I wanted to personally invite you to the party.

Please visit www.huckanddoo.com. This site will walk you through the voting process, with tips on how to get proactive, links to photos and blogs, and a guest book to share this experience together, as a community. Trust me, it’s a real hoot once you get into the swing of things.

Best, Huck and Doo

The Syracuse Convention & Visitors Bureau (SCVB) has some excellent news to share. We invite you and your colleagues to join us as we celebrate our seventh year of being awarded Successful Meetings Magazine prestigious Pinnacle Award. Likened to other highly regarded travel awards like the Mobile 5-Star and the AAA 5-Diamond, the Pinnacle Award is a validation of our efforts through top-quality service to make the Greater Syracuse Area a superior meetings destination.

On October 7, 2009 at 10 a.m., a representative of Successful Meetings will present the 2009 Pinnacle Award to the staff of the SCVB. We invite our friends and colleagues to witness this impressive industry endorsement and celebrate the continued success of the bureau. You may be interested in what some of our clients have said about the SCVB’s services:

“The Syracuse CVB is an invaluable asset to the Syracuse Nationals, and a key reason why we have grown to one of the largest car shows in the US. Our success is a direct result of the CVB having the tools, and professional staff necessary to effectively communicate and engage the people and businesses of Syracuse.”

-Bob O’Connor, Right Coast Association/Syracuse Nationals

“We were impressed with the level of support available from contacting hotels, nametag creation, to staffing our registration table. If we become involved with planning another event we will definitely contact your staff. You definitely “surprised” us in a very good way!”

-Pauline Lynch Shostack, SUNY Librarians Association
