Sunday, September 17 – Sunday, November 6 – Westminster Church 150 Years – Cayuga Museum, 203 Genesee St., Auburn. The exhibit will look at major themes and events throughout the history of the church ranging from education and outreach to the Church’s famous Tiffany window. The exhibit will also Westminster’s strong involvement in various civil rights movements: the church was founded in 1861, when 66 abolitionist members left Second Presbyterian Church following the Rev. Henry Fowler, who was forced to leave because of the controversy he caused by praying publicly for the soul of John Brown.The exhibit will feature objects and photographs from both the collection of the Cayuga Museum and Westminster Church. Wednesday, November 2 – “Science Alive” – Ward O’Hara Agricultural Museum, 6880 East Lake Road, Rt. 38A, Auburn. Hosted by the new Dr. Joseph F. Karpinski Science Center at the Museum. A night of interactive science experiences, from 6 to 8pm. Admission is $5 per person or a maximum of $25 per family. Registration is required.

Friday, November 11 & Saturday, November 12 – Gloria Ann Barnell Peter Playwright Competition – Morgan Opera House, 370 Main Street, Route 90, Aurora. At this writing, the judges of the fifth competition are reading submissions from playwrights near and far. Plan to enjoy another full-length production of an original work depicting an historical event or historical fiction. Topics are as diverse as cultural conflicts in the Northwest Territories to Lizzie Borden to the final years of Vincent van Gogh.
