Martin Sheen plays an ophthalmologist named Tom, whose only son, Daniel (Emilio Estevez), dies in severe weather in the Pyrenees while trying to walk the Way of St. James. Tom goes to retrieve his son’s body and ends up walking the pilgrimage himself, along with 4 fellow travelers. The beauty of the movie is that Emilio Estevez, writer/director, does not make explicit what any of them find, beyond friendship. He lets these four fine actors convey that true personal transformations are not announced with fanfare, but happen internally. 3/10, 1 & 8pm, 3/11 8pm. Like Mr. Klapisch’s earlier films “L’Auberge Espagnole” and “Russian Dolls,” “My Piece of the Pie” paints an alluring picture of a pan-European cosmopolitan culture whose characters hopscotch from one country to another with hardly a second thought in a lighthearted floating party. Now, of course, there are alarming signs that the party is about to end. 3/16, 1 & 8pm, 3/17, 8pm. Tickets $5 online or $6 at the door. www.auburnpublictheater.org 315-253-6669
