Carl Hoffner Exhibition Opens at Imagine   An exhibition of limited-edition color lithographs and digital paintings by Fayetteville artist Carl Hoffner will open 6 to 9 p.m. Oct. 5 and run throughout October at Imagine, the fine arts and fine craft gallery at 38 E. Genesee St., Skaneateles.   The opening is part of the village’s First Friday celebration. Refreshments will be provided, along with entertainment by the Usual Suspects. Hoffner, who earned an M.F.A. in studio arts from Syracuse University, has been creating fine art lithographs since 1985 and exhibiting them at many of the nation’s premier art festivals. “Early on, I began to experiment with color by drawing on and printing from several stones,” he says. “By taking advantage of the stone’s texture and layering different colors, I created the rich, luminous and soft tones my lithographs are known for.”   Hoffner has created more than 150 editions, and has sold his chromolithographs to 200 galleries in the United States and Canada, along with 100 galleries throughout Japan, Korea, Taiwan, Europe, the United Kingdom and Australia.   In 2008, he began to explore the emerging art form of digital painting, in which traditional painting techniques are applied using digital tools. “I have found this to be a liberating artistic experience, bringing back the play in my art as well as offering a chance to re-explore my passion for painting and color,” he says. Imagine is located in the lakeside village of Skaneateles, nestled in the Finger Lakes region of Central New York. It represents artists from across the country and Canada, along with many Central New York artists, to create one of the most diverse contemporary art collections in the area.   The gallery is open 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Thursday and Saturday, 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Friday, and 11 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Sunday.   For more information, call 315-685-6263 or go to www.imagineskaneateles.com or www.facebook.com/imagineskaneateles.
