Program – Kihm Winship will talk about not-so-famous but nevertheless fascinating cottagers

ward, a Confederate private who was captured at Fort Fisher and an officer whose wife carried
messages for Jefferson Davis, an attorney whose daughters were pioneering feminists, a society
woman who was sufficiently down-to-earth to rescue four boys whose boat capsized, a man who
gave away 50 acres on the lake when he couldn’t find a buyer, and a woman who invited guests
to her home but didn’t come downstairs to meet them. He will also talk about a famous cottager
said to live here who actually never did, and reveal the truth about Martin Revson and Dr. Joyce
Brothers. The Museum at The Creamery, 28 Hannum St. www.skaneateleshistoricalsociety.org
