Beth Batlle, Town Historian, will trace the history of the Lemp family from Bavaria to Syracuse,
and finally to Skaneateles, through times of desperation, fire, and success as watch makers,
opticians and jewelry dealers. Walter Lemp Sr. purchased land on the shore of Skaneateles Lake
in 1940 and established a summer camp there. This is where his son, Walter D. and P.J. made
their home and raised their family. Their son, Donald, and his family also made Skaneateles
their home.

CULINARY EXPERIENCE: 6:00 PM the Inns of Aurora will offer the
cooking class
A Table for Two, focused on preparing a romantic three-course meal from start to
finish. When dinner is ready, couples will savor their creations, and a glass of champagne, at a
candle-lit table for two. The class begins at 6:00 p.m., with dinner served at 8:30. Space is
extremely limited. Limited to four couples, at a cost of $220 per couple ($110 per partner) and
