Nov. 5th & 12th – Open Mic Night – Auburn Public Theater, 108 Genesee St., Auburn.  Open Mic Night features music and spoken word from local and regional talent in a relaxed cafe setting. Listen to live original and cover music, spoken word, stand-up comedy and poetry and enjoy light refreshments including wine and beer for those with proper ID.  Closed major holidays.  Admission $2 at the door, 7:30-10:30pm.  www.auburnpublictheater.org        315-253-6669

Nov. 6th – Hands-On Science & Art Experience – D & W Diesel, 1503 Clark St. Rd., Auburn.  An evening of hands-on science and art activities for families with participants of all ages. Parents must accompany children. This months topic: Marble Roller Coasters & Raceways. Come join us!  $5/participant, $25/family limit, 6-8pm.

Nov. 6th – Live Music – Oak & Vine at the Springside Inn, 6141 W. Lake Rd., Auburn.  Performing this evening is Burt Scholl & Friends.  Free, 8-11pm.  315-252-9463.

Nov. 7th – “A Change Gon’ Come” – Irene Bisgrove Theatre, Cayuga Community College, 197 Franklin St., Auburn.  A riveting story of the “Black Moses” Harriet Tubman! Sponsored by Cayuga Community College Foundation. Kick-off to the Harriet Tubman No Longer Underground Symposium.  Free, 7pm.

Nov. 8th – Faustina – Messenger of Divine Mercy – St. Mary’s Church, 15 Clark St., Auburn.  A live multimedia drama with a modern message of mercy. Performed by Maria Vargo, directed by Leonardo Defilippis. Presented by Saint Luke Productions.  Free, 7:30pm.  315-252-9545

Nov. 8th & 9th – “Harriet Tubman, No Longer Underground – A Centennial Symposium” – Cayuga Community College, 197 Franklin St., Auburn.  Sponsored by the Harriet Tubman Boosters Club and Cayuga Community College. Culmination of 2013 celebrations w/ panelists Dr. Doug Armstrong, Dr. Deidre Hill Butler, Elizabeth Crawford, Hon. Hugh C. Humphreys, Dr. Kate Clifford Larson, Billie Luisi-Potts, Author/Professor Harry Bradshaw Matthews, Dr. Milton Sernett, Dr. Margaret Washington, Dr. Judith Wellman; Examining Harriet’s life within the context of 19th C Auburn and CNY through abolition, women’s rights and related movements; Acclaimed Tubman actress Millicent Sparks performance at 11:00 a.m. at CCC; Banquet at Springside Inn.

Nov. 9th – What is Happening with Our Wetland – Sterling Nature Center, 15380 Jenzvolt Rd., Sterling.  The heavy rains we received in June breached the beaver dam that created the wetland containing the heron rookery. Since then what changes have taken place? Have beavers rebuilt the dam or is our Beaver Wetland turning into a Beaver Meadow? Come on this naturalist lead walk to discover what is happening with our wetland. The program is free and open to the public.  Free, 1pm.  315-947-6143

Nov. 9th – Klezmer Kings – Morgan Opera House, 370 Main St., Aurora.  Continuing a cherished tradition at the Opera House, the Klezmer Kings will perform their vibrant mix of music based on the folk traditions of Eastern Europe. From the rollicking Hora to tender and powerful songs of love and faith, this group will move you. A benefit for the Morgan Opera House, the concert is sponsored entirely by Life Span Therapies of King Ferry and Moravia.  Adult tickets $8, children $5, 7:30pm.  315-364-5437

Nov. 9th – Cayuga Centers’ Annual Casino Night – Ukranium National Club, 125 Washington St.. Auburn.  Try your luck at Cayuga Centers’ seventh annual Casino Night Saturday, November 9, 2013 at the UNC, 125 Washington Street in Auburn from 6:30 – 10:30 pm. Blackjack, Roulette, Beat the Dealer and other games will be offered in addition to 50/50 raffles and a door prize drawing for an iPad. Advance sale tickets are $25 and available by calling 315-253-5383, extension 1008. Tickets purchased at the door will be $30. All winnings will be paid in cash!

Nov. 10th – Tiffany Sunday Concert Series – Willard Memorial Chapel, 17 Nelson St., Auburn.  Don’t miss this entertaining USO style show on Veteran’s Day! Grab some friends and family and join us for a lineup of patriotic and other songs, dancing and jokes. Susan May and an array of her talented students, along with Dave Borthwick and dancers from Kathy Ryan’s Dance studio, are ready to make your Veteran’s Day fun!
