Huskies, eagles, and squirrels, oh my! The Seward House Museum welcomes animal lovers of all ages to participate in a series of pet themed activities. From 1- 2 PM is the Paws & Claws tour of the museum that relates the family’s rich history of pets and the stories behind them taken directly from personal letters and diaries. From 2 – 2:30 will be a story time activity relating to Aesop’s Fables, a series of classic animal themed tales that Fanny Seward read as a child. From 2:30 – 3 PM children, inspired by Aesop’s Fables, can create their own story books with local book artist, Jessie Reich. From 3 – 4 PM the finale will be a costumed pet parade in the museum’s garden, where families can show off their favorite furry, scaly or feathered friend in a costume of their choice with prizes awarded by local judges. Local pet adoption agencies will be present throughout the day to provide information on adopting a critter of your own.
