Owasco Community Joins to Revive July 4th Field Day

The Firemen’s Field Day is back this year in Owasco, with a chicken barbecue, parade, dunking booth and other events planned for the July Fourth holiday.

The event starts at 11 a.m. Friday with a chicken barbecue at the firehouse on Owasco Road. Half-chicken dinners the fire department is cooking 3,000 half-chickens will be sold for $8 a piece until gone.

A parade from Second Avenue to the firehouse will step off at 1 p.m. The Prison City Rockers will perform from 2 p.m. until the close of the field day at 6 p.m.

Boy and Girl Scouts will sell popcorn and cotton candy and will organize a dunking booth.
Fleming volunteer firefighters will sell hot dogs and hamburgers, Four-Town Ambulance will sell refreshments and Ignite will sell fried dough. The field day also will include games of chance and a water slide.
