Artist’s Reception

Lane Twitchell is an artist working in Brooklyn who creates large-scale, vividly-colored paintings from intricately folded and cut paper.  The artist’s elaborate, repetitive designs reference religion, landscape, suburbia and modern art. The exhibition will include 15 works. An an illustrated catalog featuring an essay by the curator, Thomas Piché Jr., will accompany the exhibition.

Peter Wisbey of the Seward House will give a lecture and serve tea. Numerous guides will tell the story of South Street homes and point architecturally significant details. Lecture will be given at 1:30 pm and again at 3:30 pm EACH FOLLOWED BY A TEA PARTY, *Self-paced tours begin at 2 pm through 3:30 pm leaving from the gazebo across from Auburn City Hall.

Mosaic Artist Amy Lee will demonstrate mosaic methods developed in the Italian Byzantine era. Lee has designed mosaics for interior and exterior projects including pools, spas, bathrooms, kitchens, and home decor items. Her mosaic work was featured on ABC’s Extreme Makeover Home Edition in 2005. Using an array of glass tiles in many colors, she cuts each tile by hand and places it into an intricate design which is then shipped to customers around the world. The gallery offers off-street parking and accepts major credit cards.
