Lane Twitchell is an artist working in Brooklyn who creates large-scale, vividly-colored paintings from intricately folded and cut paper. The artist’s elaborate, repetitive designs reference religion, landscape, suburbia and modern art. The exhibition will include 15 works. An an illustrated catalog featuring an essay by the curator, Thomas Piché Jr., will accompany the exhibition.

“You and Your Wild Ideas” Writing Workshop with Author Ellen Potter
One hour writing workshop for Kids, ages 8-14 (Bring paper &pen ) Ever wonder how writers get their ideas? Award-winning children’s book author Ellen Potter helps young writers whip up their creativity! Through fun and challenging exercises, aspiring writers will learn how to jumpstart their ideas and shape them into stories. Ellen Potter is the author of the award-winning middle-grade OLIVIA KIDNEY series, as well as the middle-grade novel PISH POSH. OLIVIA KIDNEY was awarded CHILD magazine’s 2003 “Best Children’s Book Award” and was selected as one of the “Books of the Year” by PARENTING magazine.

Featuring wines from Thirsty Owl Wine Company, Buttonwood Grove Winery & Sheldrake Point Vineyard. Come enjoy music, food and a wide selection of wines from the Finger Lakes Region. Also appearing, Michael Turback, author of Greetings from the Finger Lakes. Michael will do a short presentation on Finger Lakes wineries and will then be available to sign books during the wine tasting.

[Skaneateles, NY] Ellen Potter, award winning author of the middle-grade OLIVIA KIDNEY series, as well as the middle-grade novel PISH POSH, will host a writing workshop for kids, ages 8-14 at Creekside Books & Coffee on Saturday October 20th at 3:00 pm.
“This is the second workshop we’re hosting this October for kids ages 8-14. What a thrilling way for aspiring young writers to hone their craft and meet a stimulating author,” says Creekside owner Erika L. Davis. “Her books will make great holiday gifts, especially after attending this workshop.”
