Playwriting Workshop at the Schweinfurth Art CenterThe Auburn Players Second Stage is pleased to announce its Playwriting Workshop to be held at the SchweinfurthArtCenter on May 17th, 2008 from noon to 6 p.m.

Leading the workshop will be Bourke Kennedy of Auburn,  Angela Newman of Syracuse and Alan Clugston of Aurora.

You may know Bourke Kennedy because she has been active in area theatre for over forty years both on stage and behind the scenes. She has had three original plays produced with the Auburn Players and Loose Ends Little Theatre Company. She is currently creative director for the Auburn Players Second Stage. Angela Newman is a writer and actress who is lucky enough to combine these interests by authoring The House Lights blog on Syracuase.com. A self proclaimed theatre addict, she is active in the Syracuse theatre scene both on stage and off. She has written three short plays, two unfinished novels, one blues song, and countless unsent love letters. Alan Clugston is professor of English, emeritus at Wells College in Aurora, where his principal charge was dramatic English literature. He has acted for the Auburn Players, Merry-go-round Playhouse, Aurora Players, and Kitchen Theatre in Ithaca

The interactive afternoon will include role playing, writing of a short play, and discussion of characters, plot and structure. This workshop is free to the public. Donations are graciously accepted. Participants will need to provide their own refreshments. For more information or to request a registration form contact Bourke at 315-253-4315 or bourke@kenlark.com or visit www.auburnplayers.net.
