Multi-million copy selling Capitol recording artist and comedian Rodney Carrington continues to shine in 2008. He is back on tour full time, but still finding time to work on exciting new projects.  He recently finished filming on a major motion picture, “Beer For My Horses”, that he co-wrote and co-starred in with country music star Toby Keith. He also co-starred in the hit music video by Trace Adkins,  “I Got My Game On”, which is now up for three awards on the CMT Music Video Awards.  Rodney has been nominated in the final round of voting for “Character of the Year” for his role. Future plans for 2008 include the release of another album on Capitol Records of just songs expected to debut in late summer.

MENOPAUSE THE MUSICAL

MENOPAUSE THE MUSICAL

May 27, 28, 29, 30
June 3, 6, 10, 13, 17, 20, 24, 27

The first ever extended show in Syracuse Stage history returns to set another record with an unprecedented third run! Back by popular demand, Menopause the Musical will have a limited run of five weeks, May 27 - June 29. Inspired by “a bottle of wine and a hot flash,” Menopause is a hilarious 90-minute celebration of everything from eating binges to night sweats, all to the tune of popular songs from the ’60s and ’70s. Tickets are available now for current Syracuse Stage subscribers at a subscriber discount. Tickets go on sale to the general public starting Monday, March 24.

During its previous runs at Syracuse Stage, Menopause consistently filled the Archbold Theatre. “In its first year, Menopause played 12 weeks to 99% capacity, and in the second year it played 8 weeks to 86% capacity,” said James A. Clark, Managing Director at Syracuse Stage. “After conducting a telephone survey, there was a strong indication that people are interested in seeing it again as well as for the first time.”
The show features 25 re-lyricized songs from the ’60s and ’70s, including “Help Me, Rhonda” which becomes “Help Me, Doctor,” Aretha Franklin’s “Chain of Fools” recast as “Change of Life,” and the ’60s folk classic “Puff the Magic Dragon” as an ode to exhaustion: “Puff, My God, I’m Draggin’”.

Menopause The Musical® will have a limited run of five weeks, May 27 - June 29, with eight performances per week. Tickets are available now for current Syracuse Stage subscribers at a subscriber discount. Tickets go on sale to the general public starting Monday, March 24. Tickets range $25-$48, and can be purchased in person at the Syracuse Stage Box Office at 820 East Genesee Street, or by telephone at 315-443-3275.
Tickets can also be purchased 24/7 at SyracuseStage.org. For special group discounts (10 or more) call 315-443-9844.
