Skaneateles Suites, Sunrise Rotary and Creekwalks
Good morning Sunrise Rotary, Curt Feldmann here, and thanks for buying my breakfast. I appreciated meeting with your Sunrise Rotary Group and chatting about things-that-might-be. Like Creekwalks.

Turns out that there are already several initiatives concerning Fennell Street corridor and Nature Walks. As always, these Quality-of-Life ideas are complicated by citizens who want to protect themselves from themselves; Liability when people who trip over their shoelaces sue, Enviornmental concerns when ‘we’ try to repair the existing Boardwalk, and DEC when someone (like me) haircuts the creekside in a way that pedestrians can actually see the water. (Geeze!)

Not to worry, John Hennesy, Sue Dove at the Chamber and several Village and Town Board members are at least talking about talking about starting the process.

I am reminded of a story (true) from 10+ years ago whe ‘we’ wanted to create the Community Docks. Everyone in the audience approved, every Board Member went ‘off the record’ to say they too, wanted the docks. Then they voted NO.

My personal thought has to do with the inertia created by the Boat Museum project. If ever there was a time to ’slip in’ a proposal it is now. Consider: we could actually end up with something cool, in spite of ourselves.

Conclusion: If you have interest in Creekwalks, feel free to call Curt at 315-685-7568 or read our Blog at www.skaneatelessuites.com where we have a comprehensive list of activities and resources in the StoryBook Village.

That said, I ama self-appointed Comittee of One and I have no idea where this is going to lead. (more…)
