Merry-Go-Round Playhouse presents ”The Producers”
July 23, 2008 – August 15, 2008
Merry-Go-Round Playhouse
Emerson Park, Rte 38A, Auburn
A new Mel Brooks Musical
Book by Mel Brooks and Thomas Meehan
Music and Lyrics by Mel Brooks
And by special arrangement by StudioCanal
This multi-Tony award winning musical is our second regional premiere of the summer. We worked especially hard to get the rights to this marvelous piece of theatre. It is the story of a down on his luck Producer and neurotic Accountant who team up to pull the con of the century. They’ve figured out that they can make more from a flop than a hit, at least that’s what they think. Merry-Go-Round Playhouse is proud to bring Mel Brook’s singing, dancing, comic extravaganza.
For Tickets: 255-1785 or 800-457-8897 or at www.merry-go-round.com

Emerson Park
Auburn, NY
The Great Race in Auburn, New York, also known as the Captain Myles Keogh Paddle, Wheel, & Run, will mark its 31th year in 2008. Five distinct Run, Bike, and Paddle (either canoe or kayak) Team Triathlon Relay races will begin at 9:30 A.M. on the second Sunday of August at Emerson Park, on Owasco Lake in New York’s Finger Lakes region.
The feature event, also known as the Traditional Canoe Race, is a relay of 4 person teams. It begins with a 10k run on county roads and the streets of Auburn. After finishing, runners hand off to their cycling teammate who then completes a course of about 17 challenging miles on country (all paved) roads. The cyclist then hands off to one canoe teammate who runs to the beach at Auburn’s Emerson Park (about 400 yards) where his canoe and canoe partner await. The canoers then complete an out and back 4 mile sprint course on Owasco Lake to try to earn the coveted title of Great Race Champion.
