Our Blog

skineatelles, ny? Do you mean Skaneateles, NY?

Last night a 1st time visitor found us on a Yahoo search for skineatelles, ny. No doubt they meant Skaneateles, NY and Yahoo was kind enough to suggest that.

We are a StoryBook Village in upstate New York, the most eastern of the Finger Lakes, and a wonderful place to visit.

We are also almost litter free, thanks to Kim Winship

skaneaeles ny? Nope, Skaneateles, New York

skaneaeles ny?

A New York City Roadrunner seached in Yahoo and found us today. They also are a repeat visitor, and took 14 minutes to view 7 of our pages. Thanks! Except, you dropped a consonant. Take heart, most drop vowels.

I searched for the same and found and an article about our own Charlie Major, of Nature Trail fame.

Charles Major – September ’04
Interesting article; thanks,
My Great great grandfater and 2 his brothers came from there around 1860. Some records at St. Mary.s They settled in Skaneateles NY and we are still here.

Saturday night about 10:00pm, someone from the Big Apple found us with a Google search for “skaneatles new york hotels” and then spent 20 minutes reading 31 of our pages to find a Girl’s Night Out.

Thanks, New York. We do Girl’s Night’s Out all the time. Give us a call at 315-685-7568 and ask for Curt.

By the way, you missed at ‘e’. SkaneatEles, not Skaneatles.

Civil War Reenactment in the Northeastern U.S.

Pierce Creek

WELCOME to the largest “all arms” Civil War Reenactment in the Northeastern U.S.

August 8-10, 2008 in Binghamton, New York

Mounted Cavalry – Navy – Marines – Infantry – Artillery – Living History – Music – Sutlers
  New for 2008!
Because our new location has a very large spring-fed pond, Emmy Award-winning History Channel producer Carl Kriegeskotte’s beautiful replica of the Federal steam launch used in the pursuit of the Confederate ironclad C.S.S. Albemarle will be steaming “Lake Pierce” and landing Marine shore parties into the battle in 2008.

Commander W. F. Warley of the Confederate ironclad, CSS Albemarle wrote of Lt. William Barker Cushing’s daring raid and destruction of his gunboat by writing, “… a more gallant thing was not done during the war.”

This magnificent reproduction was seen on The History Channel by 20,000,000 viewers, and now you will be able to see it in person.
