April 6-10 Spring Break Adventure Day Camp – Dr. Seuss Style
It’s spring break! Spend a day or five exploring the wonders of Baltimore Woods, where every day is different, but also somewhat the same. Find salamanders and snails and other forest goods with a Dr. Seuss bent, and fun is the name of the game! $45/child/day. Pre-registration is required. Before and after care are available. April 11 Winter Farmer’s Market 10-1pm
Visitors to the market will enjoy a diverse mix of local farm and artisanal food products from top regional producers. Held on the second Saturday of each month through April. Indoors at Baltimore Woods in Marcellus, with free parking.
April 17 Star Party: Saturn on the Rise 8-10pm

April 18 Earth Day Celebration! 1-4pm
It’s Earth Day! Come on out to Baltimore Woods for a fun and educational event including info booths on home energy, recycling, crafts, guided nature walks, live animal shows, and a special live performance of Dr. Seuss’s The Lorax. Free
April 25 Reading ’round the Campfire 4-5pm
Join Environmental Educator Patrick Burke and local authors around a pavilion campfire at Baltimore Woods Nature Center as they share tales of the local landscape and history in and around NY State. $5 for members, $8 for nonmembers. To register, call (315) 673-1350.
April 25, 26 Weekend Wildflower Walks 2-3pm
Baltimore Woods Nature Center’s premier woodland wildflower garden is a local treasure. Join caretaker Audrey Loewer for a pleasant walk through one of the wonders of spring. Each week new species will bloom, and Audrey will reveal their past and present medicinal and culinary uses. The garden is handicap accessible; please call ahead if you need assistance. Donations appreciated.

Finger Lakes Lavender Festival 2015
Lockwood Lavender Farm will kick off the 8th Annual Finger Lakes Lavender Festival on Saturday, July 11th & Sunday, July 12th! Located at Lockwood Lavender Farm, 1682 West Lake Road, Skaneateles, NY this free admission 2 day event will be from 9am to 5pm.

With just a short drive from the hustle and bustle of city life, the Lavender Festival is a perfect day in the country. Not only is this event a celebration of all the wonders of lavender, but also an event that knits together local, talented artisans. The festival offers outstanding photographic opportunities throughout the grounds and at the presentations.
Lockwood Farm is a 120 acre family owned farm tucked in the beautiful hills of Skaneateles overlooking Skaneateles Lake. We grow 20 varieties of lavender and offer “U-Pick” during the summer. Lovely soap, lotions, creams, aromatherapy products and honey for your purchase. We are excited to be developing our farm for the enjoyment of our guests.
Festival activities occur outdoors rain or shine. Dress casually to ensure your comfort. Lockwood Farm is a working farm with unpaved pathways. It is accessible, but there is uneven terrain on the grounds and in the fields.
Directions to Lockwood Farm: From the village of Skaneateles take Kane Road/41A. Continue south on West Lake Road/41A 8 miles. Past the hamlet of Mandana, we are the first farm past fire lane 50 on the left hand side.

Making maple syrup – maybe wax on snow, maple granulated sugar, maple cream, other maple products. All new this year: demonstrations will show sap gathering the old way with buckets to the more modern tubing and vacuum system. We also have a new evaporator with energy efficient steam system, and have installed a reverse osmosis system. We have maple popcorn, maple soft ice cream, maple cotton candy, and molded maple sugar. Pancake breakfast at Smokey Hollow all days 9-1. Fee $6 per person.Kids under 5 years old free.
