valid December 8, 2008 – April 13, 2009
During each winery’s regular tasting room hours.
$10.00 plus 8% sales tax (one passport per person, limited quantity sold, and are nonrefundable)

Visit the Seneca Trail during the best time of year: the off season! At only $10 plus tax, the Polar Passport gives residents and visitors alike a convenient and affordable way to enjoy many of the wineries on the Seneca Lake Wine Trail. And while most people enjoy visiting the wineries during the busy summer and autumn season, the winter season is actually the best time to visit when owners, winemakers and vineyard managers are more available and are more likely to be available to chat in the tasting room.

Here is how it works: First of all, starting winery points are not assigned for this passport program – YOU MAY START WHERE YOU LIKE! Visit any of the over 20 participating wineries, receive a free** flight of wines at each winery, and the winery will stamp or mark the appropriate space in your Polar Passport.

Valid only at the participating wineries, all of whom are listed on the map below, this is a terrific, affordable product for visitors and residents alike (tasting fees generally run from $1-4 per winery). Please check with participating wineries to confirm their individual operating hours.

Please visit each participant’s page in this passport to learn more about them and any specials they may have. The number referenced on this map is also their page in the Passport.

**THIS PASSPORT IS NOT INTENDED FOR LARGE GROUPS. If you are traveling in groups of 10 or more, tasting fees may apply. Visit our website to learn more, www.SenecaLakeWine.com, click on: Information ? FAQ ? Visiting Us ? “How to give a large group tour”. 1981 – Mary Plane, of Plane’s Cayuga Vineyards (now called Cayuga Ridge), looked at her empty parking lot and knew, if her fledgling winery was to succeed, she needed to fill it. What could she do to entice people to visit? Would people come if there were more to do, more to see? Thus began Mary’s vision of the Cayuga Wine Trail. And, Mary was right! (more…)

Cool Start. Delightful Finish.  Anyelas Vineyards
The story of Anyela’s Vineyards began three generations ago in Eastern Europe and continues today on the hillside high above Skaneateles Lake. The Nocek family combines its viticultural experience with the cooler climate patterns and fertile soil to grow our select grapes.

Unlike other vineyards along neighboring Finger Lakes, we protect our vines from the cold after the fall harvest. One by one, we carefully remove them from the trellises and bury them in the rich earth to insolate the sensitive primary buds, which eventually become the fruit. In spring, we re-trellis the vine for maximum sun exposure. We also control our grape yield to cultivate the ripest, most flavorful fruit.

Since planting our vineyards in 2001, Anyela’s Vineyards has three vintages in development and continues to grow in reputation as a vintner of exclusive wines for every occasion.

Tastings and Tours Daily
We invite you to visit Anyela’s Vineyards to sample our wines, stroll through our vineyards, and enjoy our spectacular view. Reservations are available for winery tours as well.
