BE PREPARED for the drive of your life!
Off a main road, you’ll drive a solid mile through an oak forest wilderness bending around streams and hillsides. The land is harsh, but that’s the excitement. Like the thorns that protect a beautiful rose, the drive assures the privacy for your special get away.
This is not the place to bring your Mercedes. Four wheel drive SUV is recommended in the summer time and virtually required in the fall and the spring.
At the end of the drive, is Paul’s Cabin.Main Floor
Living Room — cathedral area with soaring stone fireplace. Firewood provided.
Kitchen — cathedral area with refrigerator, stove/oven, microwave and dishwasher. Dishes, pots, pans and cooking utensils are furnished along with coffee maker (and coffee) and other “surprises”. Washer and dryer. Internet hookup for your laptop.
Grandma’s Bedroom — what a special place. This room’s window seat overlooks the lake. Queen size bed, armoire and ceiling fan
Kids Bedroom — two log beds with dresser space.
Main Bathroom — take a relaxing bubble bath in the claw foot retro tub.Loft Escape
Master Bedroom — you’ll love this bed. A comfortable queen size hickory bed, dressed in beautiful linens, will guarantee some great sleep. Ceiling fan.
Sitting Area — a quiet space overlooking the lake, is the perfect spot to unwind before retiring.
Master Bath — includes a glass and tile walk in shower.Finished Walkout Basement
Guest Room — with so many windows overlooking the lake, it won’t seem like you’re “throwing the guests down in the basement”.
Guest Bathroom — including shower.The Covered Porches — wrap around the cabin providing spectacular presence with Skaneateles Lake (just 50 feet away). Skaneateles sunsets are fabulous.
Lake Front — 200 feet of very private lakefront.On either side of PAUL’S CABIN are neighboring cabins. Each is set on one acre plus properties, which are surrounded by 14 acres of preserved wilderness. There are only four homes at the end of the drive.
We like our neighbors, and we respect their right to enjoy their beautiful homes. Therefore: parties, re-unions and large family get-togethers are prohibited. Parking is limited.
Paul’s brother is one of the neighbors. His cabin is available on occasion for multi-family vacation rental.
We find that the combination of vast wilderness and a few good neighbors to be the perfect blend of serenity and security.Things to do on property:
Fitness Gym — if you don’t get enough exercise hiking the outdoors, work out with our cardiac and weight equipment. For safety reasons, please keep the little ones out.

Home Theater — large screen surround-sound, DVD, VCR. Big, “comfy” furniture. Popcorn provided.

Great swimming in one of the world’s cleanest lakes. Skaneateles is a spring-fed lake with a limestone floor — no mud!

Docks, launches, beach — an association launch, beach and picnic area are available for your use (about 2 miles away by road; 1/4 mile by “hike”). Paul’s Cabins has a flight of stairs to a permanent dock on this most quiet part of the lake. Beach towels provided.

Boating and Fishing — Skaneateles is a large recreational lake (15 miles by 1 mile) with sail and power boats of all sizes. Daily and weekly boat rentals are available as well as fishing charters for lake trolling.

Hiking & Wild Life: an understatement. Paul’s Cabin is surrounded by miles of forests and farms, the perfect habitat for wildlife. Deer, wild turkey and raccoons are some of the animals that visit our property. And frogs; our kids love them and we’ve got plenty of them. Explore for miles along rustic roads, meandering around creeks, forests and hillsides. Get a true great north feeling. Walk for miles along peaceful seasonal roads surrounded by gorges, forests and streams. Great exercise.

Things to do in the area:

Biking — once you get to the main road, you’ll find a popular bike route along the lake. Farms, graceful estates and vineyards peek your interest. Seems too hilly for us, but experienced cyclists must like it.

Explore the Village of Skaneateles’ unique shops, boutiques and world class restaurants. Take the Routes 5&20 drive while exploring the wine country, rolling hills and the Finger Lakes Region of beautiful Upstate New York.
