Description: Pick up a lantern and song sheet and enjoy a beloved tradition at Baltimore Woods. Bring natural treats to hang for the birds and holiday treats to share with fellow carolers. This event is free for all, and as always, donations are appreciated. Please bring cookies to share.
Costumed guides lead visitors on a candle lit tour of the home decorated in holiday splendor by local florists. As visitors learn about holiday traditions of the Seward family in the 19th century, actors portraying various members of the family emerge to share holiday recollections gleaned from the letters and diaries. Tours end with Christmas carols sung around the family’s 1872 Steinway piano. Space is limited, reservations required.
Schweinfurth Art Center, 205 Genesee St. – 6-8pm, Seasonal Decor – the Art of Making Door Swags. Design and create holiday swags using fresh greens, berries, ribbons and other decorations, with Regina Lewis-Middleton. Cost: $25 to pre-register, $30 at the door.
McLeod Dance Camps for kids give youth the chance to train in dance fundamentals, focused technique, and most importantly learn that making mistakes is a pivotal part of growth. Created by American Choreographer Sean McLeod, participants will study a variety of dance disciplines including McLeod Technique Modern, MT Afro Hip-Hop, and Reinforced Motor Function. Not only will they walk away with dance knowledge, but the ability to take lessons learned throughout dance and apply them in their everyday lives. The workshop will conclude with our famed “Talk Around,” an opportunity for participants to share their thoughts with.
Including music of Christmas as well as a varied selection of classical and contemporary pieces.
