Spring is almost here, which means it is time to pay closer attention to the wildlife in the Beaver Wetland. Is the great horned owl nesting here again? Are the great blue herons, red-winged black birds or hooded mergansers back yet? Come out for a hike to see what early migrants are back and how the wetland is letting go of winter.

So What are the Guys Doing? by David Figura is a thought-provoking read and the type of book that will spark conversation as readers reflect on a wide range of subjects from marriage and career, to sex and religion. Figura offers us the male perspective on some of life’s toughest questions.

This is a flat 1.6 mile trail following an old railroad bed through woods, wetlands and farmland connecting NY 34 in the Town of Fleming to Dunning Ave in the City of Auburn. It is an easy walk or bike through a very scenic area.

Parking is available at the Northwest entrance on Dunning Ave. a quarter mile South of Clymer Street.

Hiking, biking, cross-country skiing, and horseback riding permitted.
