Our Country’s Good opens this Friday
 
The APCT is glad to announce it’s latest dramatic production; “Our Country’s Good” which is directed by Jason Manning and stars several of the most talented performers in our region.

Performances begin Friday at 8PM. January 9th. There will also be performances at 8PM on Jan 10, 16 & 17 plus two matinees at 2pm on the 11th and 18th. A video of pictures from the production is available on the Auburn Players site at www.auburnplayers.net
Tickets are available at the door of the Irene A. Bisgrove Theatre located at Cayuga Community College, 197 Franklin Street, in Auburn, NY, or by calling our reservation line at 315.258.8275
Our Country’s Good is the story of convicts and Royal Marines sent to Australia in the late 1780s as part of the first penal colony there. It follows Second Lieutenant Ralph Clark’s attempts to put on a production of George Farquhar’s restoration comedy The Recruiting Officer with a cast of male and female convicts. The play shows the class system in the convict camp and discusses themes such as sexuality, punishment, the Georgian judicial system, and the idea that art can act as an ennobling force.

Every Tuesday night from 7:00pm to 11:00pm, area musicians gather at Auburn Public Theater for Jammin’ Tuesday, an informal jam session which provides an opportunity for area musicians to perform original tunes and covers with one another. This evening is always free and open to the public. A light café menu is offered along with general seating. WiFi is also available. Music sessions are recorded with the intention of later streaming the musical offerings of each Tuesday night on the internet.  Look for a link coming soon on the APT website.
