Experience the holidays with all the hustle and bustle at our 21st Annual Holiday Shopping Spree. You will receive a wine glass, a grapevine wreath, and an ornament from each winery. You will also take home a Shopper’s Discount Card and a recipe card from each winery as you enjoy holiday-inspired dishes while sipping fine wines.

Friday 1-5pm, the following wineries are participating:
King Ferry
Long Point
Montezuma
Six Mile Creek

Saturday and Sunday 10-6pm, ALL 17 wineries are participating.

On Saturday, you can start early at 9am at King Ferry and Long Point wineries only.

Be sure to buy your tickets early for we have a limited amount available per weekend.

The museum will be decorated for the holidays. There will be over 40 trees decorated and on display. Community members, community businesses, museum staff and museum board members have decorated trees with many different and unique themes. There will be lit and old fashion trees, real and artificial trees, large trees and small trees, and green trees and colored trees. Do not miss it. Admission and parking is free, donations accepted. Dress warm as the actual museum is not heated. Come and enjoy.

Jon Crispin: The Willard Suitcases Project, 11/5 from 7 – 8 PM at Auburn Public Theater. $10 admission for public, $5 for members.

  • Photographer Jon Crispin presents his innovative work cataloguing the remaining suitcases from the patients at Willard Asylum on the shores of Seneca Lake. When the institution closed in 1995, four hundred suitcases containing the belongings for former patients were discovered. Crispin’s photographs the suitcases and their contents serve as a vignette of the patients’ lives, portrayed with integrity and dignity. Crispin will also discuss his work on documenting the prison architecture across the state of New York.

Parlor Music Concert: Opera Standards of the 19th Century, 11/9 from 3 – 4 PM and 7 – 8 PM at the Seward House Museum. Admission is $12 for museum members, $15 for the general public. Space is limited. Reservations are required.

  • Join accomplished regional pianist Joel Morehouse and operatic soprano, Rebecca Carr for two performances of classics from the European opera cannon accompanied on the museum’s 1872 Steinway piano. Carr’s voice is characterized as “big, vibrant soprano” that brings “touching” and “remarkable” renditions to the characters she portrays. Her repertoire includes the title role of Puccini’sMadama Butterfly, Violetta in La Traviatta, and Desdemona in Otello. Morehouse has served for over ten years as liturgical music director at churches throughout the region. He currently is employed at St. Mary’s Church in Auburn, where he directs a Gregorian Chant ensemble and a polyphonic choir.

Candle Light Tours, 12/ 5 – 6, 12/11 – 13, 12/18 – 20 at 6 and 7 PM at the Seward House Museum. Admission is $12 for adults, $10 for children 12 and under. Space limited. Reservations required.

  • Costumed guides lead visitors on a candle lit tour of the home decorated in holiday splendor by local florists. As visitors learn about holiday traditions of the Seward family in the 19th century, actors portraying various members of the family emerge to share holiday recollections gleaned from the letters and diaries. Tours end with Christmas carols sung around the family’s 1872 Steinway piano.
