Test the “maximum force” of your jumps, explore the physics of sports and compare your balancing ability with that of professional dancers.

Explore gravity, inertia, momentum, friction and other principles of physics as you leap and spin through 14 interactive exhibits.

The Sciencenter, founded on February 28, 1983 as a 501(c)(3) non-profit educational organization, grew out of the hands-on science program run for some 15 years by volunteer teachers Debbie Levin and Ilma Levine at several of the Ithaca City School District Elementary schools.

Ithaca Sciencenter Free Sunday

Sunday, Jan. 4, 2009 12-5 p.m.
Visit the Sciencenter for FREE on the first Sunday of every month, through March! Jan. 4 is also the last day to check out our “Spin: The Science of Rotation” exhibition before it travels to other science museums. Mark your calendar for more Free Sundays on February 1 and March 1.
