I’m trying to make that happen during the month of December,” states OL owner Melissa Tiffany. “And Sasha is such a beautiful venue, and they are a wonderful group, I definately wanted them to celebrate with me.”

Sasha Salon & Spa is open Tuesday – Friday from 9am – 6pm and Saturday from 8am – 4pm. The owner, Michalle Harmon, is a friend of the arts and her shop coninues to promote fine art in the area. Their last show, featuring work from the Open Figure Drawing Group at the Westcott Community Center, recently closed. The “Thank You Santa” show will be up through mid-February.

Syracuse, NY Orange Line Gallery is pleased to announce their re-opening after relocating to a new, larger and dedicated gallery space still in the downtown area. The occasion kicks off with an artist’s reception open to the public welcoming their new show, “Life and the Traveler”, on Thursday September 18, 2008 from 5pm – 10pm. The gallery is located at 305 Montgomery Street, Syracuse. Several of the artists will be on hand and refreshments will be served.

This show will feature five artists new to Orange Line, including Marna Bell, Laura Celuch and Heather Kunst showing photography; Jim Reed with latex on canvas; and Jace Collins featuring works in acrylic, oil and paper on Plexiglas.

“Life and the Traveler” explores treks to geographical places, real and imagined, as well as journeys to the inner-self in manners of traditional to abstract. To sum up the new pieces: Marna offers viewpoints from car windows, as well as nature’s viewpoint while traveling on its natural journey; Laura and Heather both show sweet, nurturing and narrative scapes; Jim continues with themes of abstract vibrant self-introspection; and Jace wraps up the show with precise geometrics which appear almost three-dimensional on a two-dimensional plane.

New work will also be shown, relevant to the theme, by past opening artists:
David McKenney- photography
Debra Parry Trichilo- photography
Dustin Angell- photography
Father Andrew- digital paintings
Kevin Lucas- photography
