As the election season draws ever closer and the mudslinging grows ever intense, we have decided to join in the fun here at Snake Oil Glassworks! We’ll be throwing mud around with abandon and by mud we mean clay! Please join us in welcoming ceramic artist, Dave Webster, to our studio for a wonderful night of pottery! He’ll be bringing his pottery wheel and “throwing” all sorts of fun ceramics for everyone to see! Even the glassblowers have started to dip into the mud business a bit, mixing up the refractory and goop that will soon go inside glass furnace Number Three! So pop by Friday, July 6th from 6pm-9pm to check out our progress and watch Dave create ceramic works of art right before your eyes.

As the great weather continues, so will we on Friday, August 5th with our next First Friday event. Please join us in ending the summer with a bang! We will be having glassblowing demonstrations from 6-9pm with light refreshments. Come make one more wonderful memory for Summer 2011 at our studio.

As Halloween approaches and the fall colors reach their peak, we will once more be opening the glass studio for an additional 2-day fall pumpkin making event. Due to popular demand we are pleased to invite you to come in and watch as we blow glass pumpkins in a variety of fall colors and sizes. We will be offering a “pick your own pumpkin”* opportunity to our customers; for a special price you may select the colors and size of your own custom made pumpkin and then see it made for you as you watch! Pink and yellow your favorites? No problem. You tell us how it will look. We will have some fall time refreshments and naturally, you may browse our store and see all the other wonderful glass pieces we have available.

The hours will be:

Saturday, October 23 – 10 am – 5 pm

Sunday, October 24 – 11 am – 4 pm

*Pumpkins made as part of the “pick your own pumpkin” special will be available for pickup the day following that on which they were made. Out of town people may make arrangements with us to ship theirs if they wish.
