Bring a lawn chair or blanket to lie back and gaze for meteors. $5 for members, $15/family; $8 for nonmembers, $25/family. Back-up date: August 13. 18    Barefoot Hike         1-2:30pm Free your feet! Come feel the earth under your soles at Baltimore Woods, as Barefoot Bob (our Star Party leader) reconnects you to this underutilized and healthy mode of transportation. Join Bob for a half-mile barefoot hike along the Valley Trail over grass, wooden bridges, leaves and soil. Your feet will thank you! Accommodates 5-20. This program is not intended for families with strollers. $5 for members; $15/family; $8 for nonmembers, $25/family. 25   Nature Journaling        10-11am Journaling about the wonders of nature creates a deep connection and love for the environment. Join Naturalist Becky Lynch and learn how to implement writing, drawing, photography and more into your nature journals— really get your creative juices flowing! You will create your own journal from recycled materials and learn all the important elements of this meditative practice. This program is ideal for beginners and no art skills are needed! Supplies will be provided. $7 for members, $10 for nonmembers.

Supported by the Syracuse City School District and corporate sponsors, tied to the Syracuse City School District curriculum and New York State Science Standards, lesson content supports teachers while directly impacting students. 20 Run for the Woods at Marcellus Park 7:45am
Co-sponsored by Marcellus Rotary Club, the run benefits Baltimore Woods and community service projects in Marcellus. Runners can choose the 5-mile or 4-kilometer run. Check-in and registration is at 7:45am in Marcellus Park. A 1K fun-run for kids starts at 8:30am. Call Phyllis Dank at (315) 463-9993 for more information.
27 Fireflies! 8:30-10pm
Fireflies know just what to do on a warm summer night. They have been delighting and mesmerizing people for time beyond measure. Come to The Woods to watch the light show and discover the fascinating and sometimes sneaky world of lightning bugs. Be sure to bring a flashlight. $5 for members, $15/family; $8 for nonmembers, $25/family.

Children's Summer Theater Workshop

Children’s Summer Theater Workshop
Tuesday, June 28th – Thursday, July 14th, 2011

Auburn Public Theater’s annual Children’s Summer Theater Workshop is one of Central New York’s newest summer theater programs. This summer, young actors from the local community (ages 8 to 16) will spend three weeks pursuing their passion for drama by studying Shakespeare’s HAMLET.

On the final day of class, Thursday, July 14th, we will take a trip to New York City to watch a Royal Shakespeare Company’s Young People’s Production of HAMLET, enjoy lunch and dinner and then return to Auburn by the end of the day.
