Saturday, August 12 Cornell University Cooperative Extension of Onondaga County is
hosting a two-part forest management workshop sponsored by the City of Syracuse
Water Department. 10:00 a.m.-12:00 p.m. A hike led by Andrew Metz, a consulting
forester from Cortland Forestry LLC. This workshop will take us through a forest
managed for Christmas trees, maple tapping and timber at the Cedarvale Maple Syrup
Company, 3769 Pleasant Valley Road in Syracuse. For details about the workshop and to

During this hands-on workshop learn tips of the trade from seasoned backyard maple syrup producers and get first hand experience tapping trees in the Baltimore Woods sugarbush.
