January 13th & 14th  – “Sarah’s Key” – Auburn Public Theater, 8 Exchange St.  Auburn.  Starring Kristin Scott Thomas as an American journalist living in Paris, Sarah’s Key also goes back and forth between events in 2002 and what happened 60 years earlier during the city’s infamous Vélodrome d’Hiver roundup of July 16, 1942.  On that date, French officials and police, not Germans, rounded up 13,000 of the city’s Jews and herded them together for days in horrible conditions in one of the city’s indoor bicycle-racing tracks before dispatching them first to a transit camp and finally to Auschwitz.  Tickets $5, 1/13 – 1:00 & 8:00pm, 1/14 – 8:00pm.  .  www.auburnpublictheater.org  315-253-6669

January 20th & 21st – “The Help” – Auburn Public Theater, 8 Exchange St., Auburn.  “The Help” is an excellent adaptation of the bestselling novel about an unlikely rebellion in a Southern town in the 1960s among black maids serving white families and one white woman who wants them to tell their life stories.  “The Help” is a delicious peppery stew of home-cooked, 1960s Southern-style racism that serves up a soulful dish of what ails us and what heals us. Laughter, which is ladled on thick as gravy, proves to be the secret ingredient — turning what should be a feel-bad movie about those troubled times into a heart-warming surprise.  Tickets $5, 1/20 – 1:00 & 8:00pm, 1/21 8:00pm.  www.auburnpublictheater.org  315-253-6669

Experience! The Finger Lakes®

Based out of Ithaca, NY, the heart of the Finger Lakes, Experience! The Finger Lakes is your full-service concierge to the region.  We have a number of high-quality, guided, standard tours to chose from, including the famous Finger Lakes wineries and the breathtaking gorges and waterfalls of the region.  Or maybe you prefer to work with us to design a custom tour that matches your interests perfectly.  We also do personalized itinerary planning so that you can make the most of your trip. Whatever you choose, come Explore…Engage…Experience the Finger Lakes with us!

Experience! The Finger Lakes is owned and operated by Laura and Alan Falk of Ithaca, NY.

Alan and Laura have lived and experienced the Finger Lakes for over 25 years.  After 20 years working “straight-jobs” – Alan as a software engineer, and Laura, first as a manager in a software company, and then as a nutrition researcher at Cornell University – we began to yearn  for the “next big adventure”.

Our epiphany came in 2006 on a 3-week RV trip in Grand Teton, Yellowstone, and Glacier National Parks.  We used a wonderful touring company to help plan our trip, and one morning while studying our custom  itinerary, we looked at each other and said, “We can do this!  We live in a wonderful tourist destination, and while there is so much to do, there is nobody in the area that helps pull it all together for our visitors”!

Six-months later, Experience! The Finger Lakes, LLC was founded.  We consider ourselves concierge to the region – providing our guests maximum enjoyment with minimal effort.

Our overall mission is to have you Experience! the Finger Lakes as we do; being in awe of its natural beauty, its cultural abundance, its recreational opportunities, and its historical significance. Our goal is to have every guest understand why those of us who live here stay here, and those who visit come back again and again. Let us share our experience with you …Explore…Engage…Experience!
